Derma-E has quickly become one of my favorite parts to my day during this ‘Stay At Home’ Order.
I had not had a facial in a few years, so when I went in January, I was not surprised to find out that I needed to switch up my products and tailor my routine to where my skin is at now. AKA I am not in my 20’s anymore and I have new goals for my skin and how I hope to care for it in the next decade of my life.
My esthetician recommended I add hyaluronic acid to my routine. She also recommended that I swap out my heavy creams that were causing clogging and bumps to a layer of serums and lighter weight products. The goal was to get as much hydration as I could with layers of lightweight gel based serums versus the heavier lotions I was using that contained oils and other heavier ingredients. For some people that works, but for me I was noticing lots of clogged pores and not enough hydration.
I found Derma-E at Target after searching online for elevated vegan, cruelty-free skincare lines that were also affordable.
I use the hydrating gentle cleanser, vitamin c micellar cleansing water, vitamin c concentrated serum (two layers, sometimes three), vitamin c renewing moisturizer, hydrating eye cream and the vitamin c instant radiance citrus facial peel.
As the stress mounts during this sheltering in place, my skincare routine has become a vital part of my schedule. Not only is it important to take care of our bodies, minds, and spirits during this time, but finding ways to get a little extra pampering in has helped to ease my mind when I start getting caught up in the anxiety spiral. My showers and simple natural beauty routine have become a comfort each day. I am making the process intentional and soaking up the nourishment.
The scent of each product reminds me of being at one of my favorite spas, that sadly no longer exists today.
