Our Favorite Places To Shop Small And Support Local Boutiques in Franklin Tennessee

What's not to love about been Franklin, Tennessee?!

This isn't our first post about the artsy community just south of Nashville and it won't be our last. It is hands down our favorite town to shop small. The people are kind and live music follows you wherever you go. Young and old, all talents are welcomed and respected here.

We are sharing some new shops that we found on our most recent trip and re-sharing some of our go to favorites.

Franklin is a friendly town that really appreciates its artists of all mediums. As a designer, this is probably one of the most refreshing places to visit and watch a thriving city support small shops and their artistic communities. They are also super dog friendly! Many shops sport large “Pets Welcome” stickers on their front doors.

We strolled around downtown, sipped on delicious coffee from Onyx + Alabaster , ate yummy vegan grilled cheese at The Grilled Cheeserie, and picked up a few new home decor pieces, boots, a skirt, dress, and blouse from a few local boutiques.

Our Favorite Shops

I. Posh Franklin

Posh is our favorite shop when we are traveling to or through Nashville. We make it a point to stop in and visit and shop when we can. I also frequently shop them online through their instagram stories!

Posh Franklin is a dream turned reality of fashion lover, Jennifer Martens. After being in the fashion industry for over 15 years, and being a buyer at the flagship store in Nashville for 6 of those years ,she decided it was time to act on her long time desire of building women's confidence through fashion and creativity.

II. Imago Dei

Imago Dei is nestled in the beautifully historic space of what seems to be an old real estate office. Their brick and mortar space calls Franklin home. You walk in and it seems as though are instantly embraced in a warm cozy hug. They have curated a warm inviting selection of finely crafted essentials of women’s clothing, locally made jewelry, and home goods. They also have a collection of children’s clothing and toys upstairs.

III. Vinnie Louise

Vinnie Louise is just off the main strip, a little gem filled with the cutest assortment of ruffles and pastel

Vinnie Louise was my grandmother. I remember her as being the kind of woman who personified kindness, generosity and effortless style. Not always flush with cash, Vinnie was dedicated to looking her best. Though she was just as likely to give a stranger the stylish shirt off her back — one of the many things I loved about her.

But it's her grace, joy and frugality that's the inspiration behind the store Vinnie Louise. My hope is that VL can be a place where women feel affirmed, empowered and guilt-free about their wardrobe — just like the original Vinnie.

So here's to Vinnie, and to all the ladies that follow in her fashionable footsteps.

xoxo,

Ginny

IV. Whites Mercantile

WHITE'S MERCANTILE, also known as  “A general store for the modern tastemaker”  is the brainchild of singer-songwriter Holly Williams.  What began in 2013 as an attempt to fill a shopping void in Nashville, save an iconic old gas station, and revitalize the concept of a general store, has turned into a retail phenomenon boasting seven locations across the Southeast and more on the horizon. The store is named after Williams’ maternal grandparents, WARREN AND JUNE WHITE, who owned a mercantile in Mer Rouge, Louisiana, in the late 1800’s and has been hailed as, “impeccable…modern…always on point.”

“It's your one-stop shop for well, everything.”

V. Emmaline

Emmaline boutique is your destination for both elevated classics and special novelty pieces from a variety of contemporary national brands and local artisans. They strive to provide current, wearable fashion in a fun and inviting atmosphere. We are located in charming historical downtown Franklin, Tennessee.
