Ikea's 75th Anniversary Celebration

Free meatballs (including their veggie ones), 1,000's of trivia prizes, and a whole lot of fun!

Ikea is celebrating 75 years! To honor the occasion, they have brought their catalog to life in an interactive showroom, here in Chicago's Wicker Park neighborhood at 1714 N. Damen Ave.

The event will run for 4 days from 10 am to 9 pm each day, starting Thursday, August 23rd.

We don't want to spoil the exhibit for you, this is definitely a fun activity to add to your weekend plans.

Totally family friendly, they have a coloring room where kids can sit and color and play with kitchen play sets and stuffed animals.

Adults looking to learn a bit about Ikea's history, as well as their green initiatives and long term goals for the future, can play an interactive trivia game on your phone. At the end of the exhibit you can choose a prize depending on your score. You have 10 seconds to answer the questions and can't go back, so make sure to be prepared.

Ikea also shares a lot of history, facts, and information before each question you answer. We learned a lot of things we did not know previously.

Hop in the Ikea Time Machine photobooth and pick the decade you want to travel back to.

And of course, the best is saved for last! Enjoy free meatballs and hop in their Ikea Time Machine and snap a photo with cute stickers from your favorite decade.

Veggie meatballs are available along with a wide array of yummy sauces to pair.

We are hoping to make it back one more time before they leave. If you check it out, make sure to let us know!
